  • 10:00 p.m. - 7:00 a.m. (including weekends as needed)

Summary

Follows established procedures for the cleaning, rinsing, foaming, steaming and sanitizing of equipment, containers and the Goldsboro facility. Must be open to work at main facility or Distribution Center as needed. Established procedures are documented in the Sanitation Standards of Operations Procedure book and kept in the supervisor’s office.

Duties And Responsibilities

Essential Functions

  • Responsible for cleaning work area as assigned by the sanitation crew chief or supervisor, and must be able to perform these duties in all areas.
  • Follows established procedures for the cleaning, rinsing, foaming, steaming and sanitizing of equipment, containers and the facility. Also includes disposal of garbage with forklift, maintaining drains and floor ways clear as well as maintaining recyclables generated from the Plant.
  • Performs daily Preoperational inspections of assigned area after cleaning.
  • Performs weekly ATP swabs and reports.
  • Must be able to operate production equipment correctly to facilitate proper cleaning.
  • Follows safety procedures to ensure the safe handling of chemicals and equipment.
  • Measures and mixes chemicals per established procedures.
  • Records work performed on Sanitation Schedule at end of each workday.
  • Maintains dumpster area in clean and orderly condition.
  • Follows safety rules and company policies.

Other Duties

  • Participates in training, employee meetings, committees, project teams, etc. as appropriate.
  • Receives written and verbal instructions on the above job tasks and performs other duties as directed by Supervisor or crew chief.

Foaming machine, Pressure Washer, Forklift, Bucket, Mop, Wheel cart, Sponge, Cleaning chemicals, Paper towels, Broom, Dust pan, Deodorant, Plastic liners, Water hose, Trash boxes, Ladder, Gloves, Goggles, Apron, Shovel, Hoses, Two-Way Radio, and scrub pads.

Physical Demands

Climbing: Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms. Body agility is emphasized. This factor is important if the amount and kind of climbing required exceeds that required for ordinary locomotion.

Balancing: Maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing or crouching on narrow slippery or erratically moving surfaces. 'This factor is important if the amount and kind of balancing exceeds that needed for ordinary locomotion and maintenance of body equilibrium.

Stooping: Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at waist. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerate degree and requires full use of the lower extremities and back muscles.

Kneeling: Bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee or knees.

Crouching: Bending the body downward and forward by bending leg and spine.

Crawling: Moving about on hands and knees or hands and feet.

Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.

Standing: Particularly for sustained periods.

Walking: Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another.

Pushing: Using upper extremities to press against something with steady forces in order to thrust forward, downward, or outward.

Pulling: Using upper extremities to exert force in order to draw, drag, haul, or tug objects in a sustained motion.

Lifting: Raising objects from a lower to a high position or moving objects horizontally from position-to-position. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires the substantial use of the upper extremities and back muscles.

Fingering: Picking, pinching, typing, or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand or arm as in handling.

Grasping: Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm.

Feeling: Perceiving attributes of objects, such as size, shape, temperature or texture by touching with skin, particularly that of fingertips.

Talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Those activities in which they must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.

Hearing: Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make fine discriminations in sound.

Heavy Work: Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/ or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and\or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

The worker is required to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned (ie. custodial, food services, general laborer, etc.) or to make general observations of facilities or structures (i.e., security guard, inspection, etc.)

Work Environment

Works inside and outside, subject to significant seasonal temperature variations and intermittent wetting from some job tasks. Some contact with sanitizing chemicals. Gloves, goggles and rubber boots required in some job tasks. Head cover and beard cover required. Ear plugs required due to irritating machinery noise.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
  • Must be properly trained to handle chemicals.
  • Forklift experience preferred.
