Job Title: Desktop Engineer - Phone Deployment

Pay Rate:  $25 per hour

Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Desktop Engineer to assist with the deployment of Cisco IP phones across multiple locations in Brooklyn, NY. This is a contract-based role expected to last approximately three months. The ideal candidate will have experience with hardware setup and basic network connections.

Key Responsibilities:

• Unbox and assemble Cisco IP phones in preparation for deployment.
• Install Cisco phones on users’ desks per the assigned building/floor migration schedule.
• Connect Cisco phones to network ports and daisy-chain existing computer network cables to the phone where applicable.
• Ensure the phone is properly connected and powered on.
• Activate phones using HHC-provided activation codes based on the phone’s assigned location.
• Remove old PBX phones from users’ desks after migration to Cisco phones.
• Conduct site visits four (4) times per location to complete assigned tasks.
• Work at least 50% of scheduled hours during off-hours (nights and weekends) to accommodate business operations.

Requirements:

• Previous experience in desktop support, IT hardware deployment, or similar roles.
• Basic understanding of network infrastructure and connectivity.
• Ability to follow technical instructions and deployment schedules.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
• Physical ability to lift and move hardware as needed.
