Position Overview: We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Loan Officer to join our team in Southfield, Michigan. The ideal candidate will assist clients in securing mortgage loans that align with their financial goals, ensuring a smooth and efficient loan process. This role requires a deep understanding of mortgage products, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to navigate the complexities of loan origination.
Key Responsibilities:
Client Consultation: Meet with clients to understand their mortgage needs and financial situations, providing guidance on suitable loan options.
Loan Origination: Assist clients in completing loan applications, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all regulatory requirements.
Documentation Review: Collect and analyze financial documents, such as income statements and credit reports, to assess loan eligibility.
Product Knowledge: Stay informed about various mortgage products, including conventional loans, FHA loans, VA loans, jumbo loans, and home equity loans, to provide clients with appropriate options.
Compliance: Ensure all loan processes adhere to federal and state regulations, as well as company policies.
Communication: Maintain clear and ongoing communication with clients, real estate agents, and underwriters to facilitate timely loan approvals and closings.
Market Awareness: Keep abreast of current mortgage interest rates and market trends to provide clients with up-to-date information.
Qualifications:
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Loan Officer or in a related mortgage lending role.
Licensing: Must hold a valid Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) license in the state of Michigan.
Knowledge: Strong understanding of mortgage loan products and the loan origination process.
Skills: Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Technology: Proficiency in loan origination software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or a related field is preferred.
