Job Description

Overview:

The Foot Locker PR & Communications team is looking for a strategic Sr. Manager, Corporate PR & Communications to manage external corporate communications efforts and drive positive brand perception. This role requires strong writing skills and media landscape knowledge, project management, and organizational skills, while being able to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative, and matrixed organization. The successful candidate will be a resourceful self-starter, who is adept at quickly shifting gears in an ambiguous and fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Proactively seek opportunities for positive business media coverage and respond effectively to media inquiries
  • Craft clear and compelling written messaging to advance Foot Locker, Inc.’s business narrative and key developments
  • Sustain and enhance the company's reputation by proactively supporting reputation risk issues to minimize the impact on business success and build public trust
  • Manage media relations on reactive issues, including drafting statements / responses and providing background information
  • Remain acutely attuned to all forms of media coverage for proactive planning
  • Craft strong external communications materials, including press releases, talking points, speeches, presentations and more
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key media outlets, collaborating with external partners to amplify the company's message and initiatives
  • Support executive visibility programming, including securing speaking engagements, events, proactively managing opportunities, timelines, and more
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Human Resources, Legal, Investor Relations, Customer Experience, and other key functions to align communication efforts with business objectives and ensure stories are reported accurately
  • Partner closely with internal communications team to ensure cohesive communications
  • Support communications efforts across banners and serve as liaison with global teams as needed
  • Serve as the day-to-day team lead to external PR agency
  • Regularly analyze and report on the impact of PR and communications strategies, making data-driven recommendations for improvement
Qualifications:
  • 7+ years of public relations or communications experience
  • University degree in PR, Communications, Journalism or a related discipline
  • Excellent writing skills, including stellar grammar and creative approaches to external communications
  • Experience shaping and improving challenging narratives
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex issues and quickly shift priorities to manage day-to-day crisis communications issues, while setting and meeting strict deadlines
  • Experience in media relations, executive visibility, issues/crisis management
  • Exceptional attention to detail while navigating a fast-paced, high-growth organization
  • Outstanding organizational skills, highly adept at prioritizing, multi-tasking and time management
  • Self-starter, independently motivated, and influences others
  • Public company experience preferred
Benefits:

The annual base salary range is $102000 - $115000 / year. This range represents the anticipated low and high end of the salary for this position. This role is also eligible to receive short term incentives that align with individual and company performance. Salary will be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Salary is one component of the Foot Locker, Inc. total compensation package, which includes the below.
