Job Description

Salary: 65,000 - 117,500 USD per year Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years experience in information assurance and cybersecurity
  • US Citizenship
  • DOD Secret Clearance
  • DOD 8570 IAT II Certification
  • Flexibility to work independently or in teams
  • Working knowledge of DoD networking and IA policies and regulations
  • Familiarity with NIST Information Technology Security Special Publications
  • Experience with Risk Management Framework (RMF)
  • Experience operating and maintaining network access control, endpoint security, host-based security, data protection mechanisms, and intrusion management systems
  • Experience with HBSS, Splunk, and Security Information and Event Manager (SIEM)
  • Problem resolution and subject matter expertise in security investigation best practices
  • Certified Ethical Hacker certification (preferred)
Responsibilities:
  • Ensure information systems' data availability, integrity, authentication, confidentiality, and non-repudiation
  • Implement and monitor security measures for communication systems and networks
  • Develop and execute government-approved security policies, plans, and procedures
  • Operate and monitor network intrusion detection and forensic systems
  • Perform defensive cyber operation duties including workstation and server compliancy, identifying cybersecurity incidents, performing forensics and remedial action, and reporting defensive cyber operations statistics

Leidos is seeking a Cyber Security Specialist to support efforts for SMIT, the largest IT services program for the Navy. The candidate will oversee team development and equipment assessments to ensure operational readiness for execution. The role involves operating all aspects of Information Systems (IS) data availability, integrity, authentication, confidentiality, and non-repudiation, as well as implementing and monitoring security measures for communication systems and networks. The position also requires flexibility to work independently or in teams, sometimes across geographic regions and members with varying information security abilities. The schedule is Thursday – Saturday and every other Wednesday from 1800 – 0600 EST, with a pay range of $65,000.00 - $117,500.00.
